Sculpture and Assemblage tactile artwork

Plastic Waste Sculpture Project 2024-

Every year thousands of pounds of plastic debris end up in our local waters from trash left on beaches, dumped or blown from boats or wending their way from our roadsides into the water drainage into the bays. The Texas beaches are the receptacle of ten times as much plastic garbage as the rest of the Gulf of Mexico. “In fact, Texas has more marine debris along its waterfront than any other state in the nation” (Texas Climate News, 2018).
Moving forward, the base forms of all non-fired sculpture will be made from coastal bend-waterway collected and recycled plastic trash.
